Upgrades at Vertellus Facility in Nantong Support Food and Cosmetic Standards
(INDIANAPOLIS, IN – September 28, 2016) – Vertellus, a global leader in vitamin B3 production, is pleased to announce the implementation of upgrades at its production facility in Nantong, China. When completed during the first half of 2017, the upgrades will position Vertellus’ Nantong facility to meet compliance standards for vitamin B3 supplied to food and cosmetic customers around the globe. The upgrades will assure the Nantong plant is compliant with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards, permitting the Nantong facility to expand beyond feed markets and serve the needs of food and cosmetic customers around the globe.
“The Nantong plant offers customers a world-class facility that is fully integrated from beta picolines to niacinamide production, making Vertellus one of the world’s leading producers serving the vitamin B3 market segment,” says Bernie Szalkowski, General Manager, Agriculture and Nutrition. Vertellus expects upgrades to be completed in the first half of 2017 and has implemented a process for qualifying vitamin B3 customers supplied by the Nantong facility.
The Nantong site began producing niacinamide in 2014, significantly reducing logistics challenges and preparing Vertellus to better serve Asian markets. The most recent investments at Nantong reflect Vertellus’ ongoing commitment to investing in facility improvements that serve vitamin B3 markets around the globe.
